Research Assistant                                                                                           

Dr. Lewis, UF College of Medicine Dept. of Psychiatry 

  • Assess patients at the Florida Recovery Center, an evidence-based addiction treatment program.

  • Gather data that will be used by patients’ teams to create their treatment plan and track progress over time.

  • Presented poster "Age-Related Differences in Pain and Sleep among Individuals in Treatment for Substance Use Disorders" at several regional and state-wide research symposiums and won best undergraduate poster award.

International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) Research Team          Dr. Pan, UF Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering

  • Coded team website using HTML to represent our project: "A Multifaceted Model to Study Sepsis Progression.”

  • Presented project at worldwide synthetic biology competition in Paris, France, and was awarded a silver medal.

  • Complete meaningful, age-appropriate activities with patients to foster growth and development.

Teaching Assistant

Programming Fundamentals I                                          

  • Facilitate weekly discussion to enhance students’ understanding of concepts and assist with assignments.

  • Conduct bi-weekly office hours to answer student questions, help debug code, and provide guidance.

  • Collaborate with teaching staff to transition the course’s programming language from Java to Python.
